WORK
CULTURE CHANGE
Meme
- an idea, behavior, style, or usage that spreads from person to
person within a culture.
Memes
are the currency of an organization's culture; the culture of a
profession; the "SOUP" whose taste is indistiguishable
from all the individual contributions of which it is comprised.
Getting a "taste" of a culture, or making it "taste
differently" to folks internal or external is the practice
of Cultural Effect Consulting.
A
work culture may exist to serve the mission or business goals of
an organization - in fact, that's when it works best.
A
work culture may also be at odds with the business or stated interests
of the organization. Understanding the values and behaviors in the
cultural context is paramount in supporting any interpersonal actions,
learning, or progress.
Understanding
how governance, decisions, communication methods are fundamental
to the performance of the organization.
